The Bolton Lions Club is a small but remarkably active and talented club. Chartered in April, 1976, the club wasted no time in letting its presence be known. Within two years the Lions Club felt that it was ready to embark in its first major civic project:  The pavilion at Indian Notch park. Every facet of the project from design to construction was accomplished by the club without the expenditure of any town funds. The pavilion stands today in testimony to the dedication of our club to the town of Bolton.

Most recently we funded and constructed 2 bocci courts as a gift to the senior citizens of Bolton. Following the dedication ceremony on September 22nd we challenged the Seniors to an annual tournamment to determine the Bolton Town Championship. We were immediatly put in our place by the seniors. Next year has to be better!

With time, as the club's experience grew, so did its list of accomplishments:

  • The first audiometer for the Bolton School system
  • The founding of the Bolton 5 mile road race
  • Partial funding of the Little League ball field fence at Indian Notch Park
  • The Fall Festival at Indian Notch park
  • Free hayrides for Bolton's children at the annual Women's Club Halloween party
  • Funding for the Fidelco Guide Dog program
  • Vision care and eyeglasses for local residents in need
  • Recycling of hearing aids for the hearing impaired
  • Funding of 2 scholarships for Bolton students

The list goes on and on and will continue to grow as long as there are people in need.
